Hi Fablelanders!

I'm really hoping I'm not stepping on toes with this but it came up on plurk and making a post seems the best way to get thoughts organized. So, the game's a little slow, I think we've all noticed, and I think we'd all like to do something to give it a little kickstart. We've got a bunch of characters who seem to be the sort that are Get Up And Do Things people, which means that we should have them get up and do things. Of course there's going to be an upcoming December update but in the meantime:

→ organizing some sort of a town meeting! Rose has volunteered Kamala (morphogenia) to actually set something up for characters, but the reality of things is that it might need to be OOCly discussed more than ICly played out, just given time zones and all that jazz. But basically, making sure everyone knows everyone else (so characters who haven't met in a thread can handwave meeting here if necessary) and for characters to figure out who knows what/does what in terms of survival skills. So please feel free to chime in below with what your character might have to offer and/or thoughts on getting characters to meet and such.

→ exploring the sleep mechanic thing (meaning the thing where, no matter where characters fall asleep, they're transported back to the cabins mentioned in the November update) and starting to really explore the island. To that end I'm planning on having Bucky post in the next few days with attempts to get increasingly further away from the central cabins in doing some basic exploration. He'll be documenting his attempts (if we can call it that) via the mirror shard, and characters are of course welcome to join him or just chime in via the mirror; I'm planning to have it be several instances of attempts over a couple of days so there's plenty of opportunity for people to interact however they wish. I'm hoping it'll help open up the basic lay of the land for people as well as the limitation of the sleep thing and maybe spark some discussion between characters on what could have brought them here/what is keeping them here.

So, uh, thoughts are welcome, no idea is too crazy, let's make some things happen!!

Hello, FL! I'm TF and I'm joining the game with Takashi "Shiro" Shirogane from Voltron: Legendary Defender. Shiro's known for being a great leader, the golden boy that everyone follows, but he's also dealing with some shit after having been held prisoner and experimented on by an evil alien empire. Look at that shiny metal arm that comes with memory loss and trauma... But don't let the serious attitude fool you, he hides a dork underneath that can come out when he's not overworking.

Shiro is taken from the end of season 7 (a little farther than his castmates) so if you want me to avoid spoilers, please let me know! Same if you don't want to deal with his PTSD and other stuff associated to being a prisoner of war in tags (mostly narration). You can find me through PMs or at totallyfangirl, feel free to add me. Looking forward to playing with everyone!

HELLO FRIENDOS. My name's Luis, and I'll be bringing in Future Gohan from Dragon Ball.

For the uninitiated, he's a half-alien kung-fu action dude who can fire lasers out of his hands. However, he's actually super nice and polite and friendly, and is more interested in being a nerd and reading books rather than fighting. Unfortunately, this is the version of the character that comes from a devastated Earth, where he's spent the last thirteen years fighting off a pair of over-powered androids. As such, he's less of an endearing nerd, and more of a stressed-out warrior who's just Done(TM).

He'll be waking up in the Eastern Plains, if anyone would like to do some arrival stuff with him! And if you wanna plot or chat or whatever, you can find me over at megasquip and/or xtrsunburn#4292 at Discord. I'm real excited to play with everyone!

Hello hello everyone! I'm sorry I wasn't able to intro earlier, but I was on vacation on a Disney Cruise for the past week, and the internet was both spotty and expensive. My name is Shade and I've been around the RP scene for a crapton of years. This is one of my oldest characters, Tsume from the anime Wolf's Rain that played back in the mid 00s. Tsume is one of those brooding bad boy loner types, but he's actually not human at all. He's kind of a reverse werewolf in that he's a wolf with an ability to look human. It's an illusion rather than any physical changes, but other than that, he looks completely human when he wants to. The world is basically ending where he's from and the entire world is an apocalyptic wasteland, so this is actually an improvement for him.

Hello, hello! My name is Jen and I'm bringing in Princess Zelda from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Zelda is the ruler of a magical fantasy kingdom known as Hyrule. She's a very serious, hard-working, emotionally distant young woman who was recently overthrown by an invading tyrant and even more recently restored to her throne by a hero who turns into a wolf. She kind of blames herself for the bad things that happened to her kingdom, but she's also a real sweetheart when you get to know her!

Zelda will be waking up in the Western Forests. I'd love to backdate an arrival thread for her, or tag in with someone else who is waking up in her same area.

Hello, everyone. My name is Jon and I'm bringing with me Monika from Doki Doki Literature Club!. For the unaware, DDLC starts out as a dating sim and then takes that expectation and pretty much tosses it out the window. For the most part, Monika over here is pleasant, sociable and friendly, so approaching and talking to her is no problem at all. She likes meeting new people and making friends! She'll be starting over at the Southern Shores.

That being said...

DDLC is a game that features a number of heavy and dark subjects, including (and most definitely not limited to) anxiety, depression and murder. Because of that, I've made a permissions post. I'll keep mentions of those subjects to a minimum, and label my threads if it does go into that territory, but if anyone would rather just avoid CR with her in general (or avoid game spoilers!), please let me know over there.

I'm Steve, and I'm bringing in Mordred here from Fate/Apocrypha, which is one of many Fate installments where a bunch of historical figures fight over the Holy Grail and questionable writing happens. Anyways, Mordred here used to be a knight of the Round Table until she decided to rebel and overthrow the king, it ended badly. For everyone. Especially her since she kind of died.

And she still has a lot issues about that, so she can be anywhere from kind of a grumpy mess to a complete and utter rage fueled dumpster fire depending on the situation. She's already not happy about being here, so yeah, things won't be off to a great start with her. Also, she'll be over in the Western Forests!

Hello lovely people, I'm Cat and I'm bringing you one previously brainwashed former assassin from ~~that canon with a million movies~~ the MCU. Bucky here is from the end of The Winter Soldier which means that he's in the process of overcoming his programming and regaining his memories and discovering who he is outside of what he was made into. It also means he pretty much isn't going to recognize any of his canonmates so.

Fun times.

I will be cleaning up his journal some time in the next few days to include proper informational and permission posts for anyone who is not canon familiar but I'm also happy to talk over What Having A Resident Assassin Means To You with anyone who might be interested.

Bucky's going to be waking up in the Northern Drifts which amuses me to no end, A+ choice mod team, you are awesome. I'd be happy to thread out initial runnings into or continue tdm threads if anyone is interested, but since my personal schedule just got very hectic (in the good way!) for the next few days I'm probably going to wait until the upcoming event to really throw him into things properly. I do welcome any and all plotting comments here or at sometimesamuse if you want to figure things out. Or if you just want to shitpost memes I'm cool with that too, go wild. I'm honestly just thrilled to be here.

Hello everyone, I'm Kite and I have very mild new-game jitters but it's awesome to meet you all. Today I bring you ya boi Lance from Voltron: Legendary Defender, a show about piloting giant robot lions in space and also sending kids to war. Lance is a pretty cheerful, friendly teenager with more wit than sense sometimes, who will probably chat you up if you stand still long enough. He's totally expecting people to know about Voltron... let's see how long that lasts.

Lance is arriving in the Northern Drifts, I'm not sure if anyone actually goes there voluntarily, but there's the option of running into him before he gets to the lake.
